About Cricket Teas

A community-powered guide to the best post-match teas at cricket clubs across Britain.

Cricket Teas is a simple, mobile-first community website built for recreational cricketers who know that a good tea is half the reason you play away matches. After a long stint in the field, the tea your host club serves up can make or break the afternoon — and yet, until now, there has been no easy way to find out which clubs do it best. Cricket Teas fixes that. Anyone can search for a club, rate its tea across food quality, variety and quantity, and help build a live national leaderboard of Britain’s finest cricket teas.

The site is for everyone who plays recreational cricket in the United Kingdom — village and club cricketers, Sunday friendly sides, league players, captains organising tours, and anyone who has ever been served a memorable scone at a ground they had never visited before. You do not need to sign in to browse the leaderboard or read a club’s ratings, and adding a missing club takes only a moment. Every rating is submitted by a real visitor, and we also gather community recommendations from social media so that clubs with fewer direct ratings are not left out of the conversation.

Cricket Teas is built and maintained by a small, independent team of cricket enthusiasts who simply wanted a fairer way to celebrate the clubs that put real effort into their teas. The leaderboard uses a transparent weighted “Tea Score” that combines direct ratings with community recommendations, so a single five-star review cannot dominate the table and a well-loved club with lots of support is recognised even before the ratings roll in. We have no sponsors and no agenda — just a love of cricket, cake, and a decent cup of tea.
